Glenn Ballard of BallardGem.com reminded us that “you can’t choose a diamond from web” and that certificates and numbers don’t let you SEE the diamond and look at it with a person that can walk you through the stone’s features.

Glenn told of a great story about multi-generational customers: recently a woman came into the store and bought a piece of jewelry from Ballard & Ballard Jewelers and went on to say that her Mother and her Grandmother had all been BallardGem.com clients over the years,too. That made 3 generations of one family that trusted Ballard & Ballard as their familiy’s jeweler.

Glenn went on to mention that they had Valentine’s Day gifts $79 to $999 and new colored diamonds in champagne, canary and chocolate. Those are natural colors and can be very expensive but he has all colors. Still the clear white diamonds remain the most popular. Yellow are more expensive at double the price of white. Bright, pink are 1,000 times more expensive. The more intense the colors, the more valuable they are.

Glenn mentioned that about 200 million years ago was the time that all diamonds were created.

For Valentine’s day they have lacquer covered roses wth gold tips on the petals, very pretty and they last forever, just like diamonds!
