Green Wave has been accorded the great honor of being selected as a semi-finalist in the 2010-2011 McCloskey Plan Competition sponsored by the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
A total of 113 teams entered the McCloskey Competition last fall.
In December, 86 teams, including Green Wave, were invited to continue into Round 2 where they began to write their business plans
Green Wave has been chosen as one of the 12 teams selected to advance to the semifinal round. 156 judges and mentors evaluated the entries and have provided valuable feedback thus far.
Green Wave will travel to Notre Dame on Friday, April 15, 2011 for the finals of the Competition, where we will be presenting our plan and strategy to the judges – a lot like American Idol!
Green Wave’s Competition Team Members Are:
· Aimee Hornberger – Notre Dame MBA candidate and VP of Business Strategy.
· Dave Rohleder, VP of Finance
· Alan Armijo, VP of Information and Technology; and
· Myself (Mark Holmes)
Green Wave’s mentor in the competition is Lance Ehrke. Lance was one of the founders and patent holder of Silver Spring Networks, which is developing Smart Meters and the Smart Grid. I have spent a number of years in the Electric Generation, Transmission and Distribution world. Lance has developed a number of startup companies. Lance has also taught Strategy and Business Plan development at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and at Marquette University Graduate Business School. Lance has mentored other participants in the competition – one of which placed second in the competition. So he has quite a track record.
The commitment of time and effort by Lance and the other team members to support Green Wave in this important entrepreneurial event is invaluable and deeply appreciated.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for our business plan, please let me know!
Many thanks to everyone who has supported Green Wave
